Kids Operating Room are investing in local surgical teams

Strong workforces our critical to building strong, sustainable healthcare systems. But - the WHO estimates that by 2030 we will have a shortage of 18 million healthcare workers globally.

Demand for care is particularly strong in low- and middle-income countries is particularly overwhelming. More than 90% of the children who currently cannot access safe and timely surgery live in LMICs. On average, there is one specialist surgeon for over 3 million children. In many cases, that specialist number is zero.

Children deserve better than this. We're working to ensure local surgeons have the right knowledge and tools to care for their nation’s children.

EQUIPMENT TRAINING

Our work doesn't finish once an Operating Room is installed. We keep in touch with hospitals, supporting them as they learn to use their new equipment. We have created a resource hub, where healthcare workers can take on any additional training they feel they require with the equipment provided to them.
